Case Study

Need

The New York Hall of Science had an old and outdated website that needed a major refresh. The new website would have to be managed by a variety of non-technical people while staying beautiful and true to the provided design.

Solution

I built a new WordPress theme from scratch which not only was true to the provided design, but expanded upon it and organized it into a series of design modules, which staff can manage on the back-end using a friendly graphical user interface. I built custom post types for staff, jobs, content boxes and other types of reusable content. The search page has a fancy multi-factor search that viewers can use to find the content they're looking for.

Results

NYSCI’s new website has been serving them well for years now. Different people have come through and taken over the website management job at NYSCI and all of them are able to quickly adapt to using the custom tools I made with no special training necessary. The site has remaining beautiful and timely and has been able to adapt to all of the display needs that the museum has had.
