Routes 2 Farm
Need
Routes 2 Farm connects beginning farmers with educational and financial resources to build their farms. There are so many organizations offering so many programs that it can be hard to figure out which one applies to you. How can beginning farmers sort through their options?
Solution
I built a custom database solution within WordPress, leveraging WordPress's custom posts functionality to create the Alliances that offer the programs, and the Routes (the programs themselves). Then I built a custom multi-factor search form that begining farmers can use to find programs (routes) that are appropriate for their farming stage, category of help wanted, and geographic location.
Results
The new search tool works wonders. Farmers are able to find what they are looking for easily and quickly and connect with the alliances directly to find out more about and sign up for their programs.
