I’m looking for a colleague to do some of the maintenance tasks that need to be performed on my clients’ websites once a month (and possibly occasional other task, if the skills are there).
The monthly work takes 2-4 hours per month (done in a single day, or two consecutive days) and pays $35-$50/hour, depending on experience. My colleague Peter, who has been doing this work for me over the past 5 years, recently finished his schooling and is now moving into work as a therapist; but he will be available to train the new person in (both get paid for time spent on training).
Required tasks (no programming/coding required):
- run monthly backups and updates for WordPress websites
- follow provided backup routines
- update plugins, themes, WordPress
- check over website for problems
- roll back to backup if necessary
- run process to generate report and send report to clients
Helpful attributes:
- detail-oriented
- organized & reliable
- self-starter
Additionally useful skills (i.e. some more technical skills):
- ability to use FTP
- familiarity with html, php, MySQL databases
- experience writing css
- experience troubleshooting updates-gone-wrong
- experience creating and editing complex WordPress pages
- experience programming in php
