The main client-facing site is a WordPress-driven site with a plethora of custom shortcodes. It leverages the existing WordPress post objects to handle a variety of different types of content, making it easy for the synagogue staff to manage content. The site also uses some excellent plugins, some of them custom-hacked by yours truly, including CFormsII, WP-Shopping Cart, Post Expirator, and more.

The second part of the project was a custom application built with CakePHP (temporarily named BJ Forms App) that allows staff to create and manage event and event details and create new signup forms, and allows site visitors to register and pay for events.

The project was a massive undertaking that was a collaboration with Daniel of Kestin Technology who provided some of the strategizing and much of the project management. Design was provided by the client.

Working with a designer pre-chosen by the client, Springthistle got this website up in record time for Barsamian Communications. While the site has only 5 pages, the store page is quite a marvel. All of the data for the store is kept in a small PHP database, and extensive custom javascript is used to keep inventory up to date for every combination of shirt design, gender, and size for each shirt. Meanwhile, we integrated the site with ASecureCart to utilize the shopping cart. Everything went smoothly, changes were quick and easy, and the shirts all almost completely sold out by the inaguration.

Mendelea

“The personalized “wearable works of art” of Mendelea reflect the collaboration of an artist and goldsmith. Mendelea, a calligrapher and fine artist, develops the abstract concepts into beautiful designs, using either Hebrew or English letters. Names, initials, monograms or phrases are elevated to a new height of artistic form through Mendelea’s unique talent.” This silver-and gold-smith needed a beautiful site that would reflect the quality of his work. Uniquely designed and dynamically constructed.
