Rotating images, larger on the homepage, smaller on internal pages, showing the colorful diversity of people and activities as SSDSA schools
Dynamic Announcement and Events listing which update automatically on the homepage and in custom widgets in the sidebar
RSS feeds of both Announcements and Events
Password Protected pages containing proprietary MaToK information for enrolled teachers only
Many custom plugins and shortcodes on the back-end to make additional data-management easy

Rutgers Genetics Faculty

The Department of Genetics at Rutgers University has a large faculty each of whom needs a website where they can publish their research, current lab activities, and contact information. They wanted to be able to give each faculty member a website without the cost of paying for each individual website development project.

Springthistle built them a multi-user CMS using Cake. Administrative users can create faculty users. Faculty can log in, using the same University-system-wide login they use for their other activities, and manage their websites by doing the following things:

add, edit, and re-order pages
upload and manage images and other files
change theme and website colors and fonts
choose among rollover menus
submit feedback easily from within the system
and more

Four Generations

Worked with Mike and Jill over at The Maccabee Group to produce this mini-site for Hazelden for their Four Generations Campaign. Site features:

WordPress-driven custom design and theme
Custom [shortcodes] to produce some content
Active tabs on homepage containing content from different WordPress ‘pages’
Use of Flutter to produce templates for ‘Location’ pages
Flash widget at top left to bring dynamism to site
Leverage of WordPress ‘posts’ to produce ongoing list of site updates
Multiple templates for different page types
